Philosophy:
In general, you should approach the team as a (small) study association:
we provide you with a lab to work in and the necessary support (staff advise, compute, start finance, etc.)
you then together build your own mini-organisation that drives technological progress and sustains over time.
the team's core values are initiative and support. Perhaps you want to organise monthly talks with AI experts, build a community network with regional companies, or design a new logo and team hoodies. When you have a good idea, you get all the trust to execute on it.
Eligibility:
You can apply for the team if you:
are a BSc or MSc student at Leiden University
with >52 ECTS completed of your first-year bachelor programme
with >1 year of study time left at Leiden University
preferably in a CS or DSAI programme, but other students may apply as well
seek some extra-curricular challenge to deepen your AI knowledge
and realize that there are no ECTS associated with participation — you should only participate out of interest
are an independent worker
staff supervision is available, but this is a student-led team based on initiative and autonomy
are motivated and have time available
joining the team also comes with the expectation of commitment
