🚨 Event Alert: Welcome to Calculemus!
Calculemus is a newly formed AI team at Leiden University that brings together students who want to build, discuss, and experiment with AI together. To introduce ourselves to other curious minds and celebrate the start of the new school year, we’re organizing a launch event where you can get to know our team face-to-face, hear about what we’re doing, challenge AI agents we’ve built in a round of arcade-style games, and hear insights from guest speakers straight from the field.

🎤 Guest Speakers
Claartje Barkof — Scientist Integrator at GPT-NL, the Netherlands’ own sovereign language model, built by TNO, NFI, and SURF. She’ll take us behind the scenes of what it actually takes to build a national AI model from scratch.
Frank Sierra — Senior AI Engineer at ML6, working on AI-driven protein engineering and pharma research. With a background spanning AI engineering, parasitology, and neuroscience, he’ll share what it’s like using AI in cutting-edge research.
